This is the first ad EVER to show an actual sanitary towel being used, and people are loving it

One small step for man…

IT’S HARD TO believe that, in 2016, it’s rare to see an actual sanitary towel on telly.

Despite the fact that 50% of the population will use a pad at some point or another, most ads shy away from showing them, and we are instead treated to that Ominous Blue Liquid That Exists Only In Ads™ and loads of twaddle about absorbency.

Step up, Bodyform.

Earlier this year, the company won kudos for daring to show actual blood in an ad and now they’re back with an ad that shows a girl sticking a pad on her knickers. Revolutionary!

Bodyform Marketing Director Nicola Coronado has said that the brand wanted to highlight “what else was currently missing from feminine care advertising — and that was showing physical product in a real-life situation”.

Bodyform claims the product demonstration is a first in advertising.

And people are loving it.

Next step: eradicating white pants from tampon/pad ads once and for all.
